It will be harmonized by Regulation (EU) 2016/425 and ensures even higher safety standards. Despite the introduction of the new standard, footwear certified under EN ISO 20345:2011 can continue to be placed on the market until the natural expiry of the certificate, ensuring a gradual transition to the new provisions.
