Materials and articles in contact with food (MOCA)

The food handling glove is not only a fundamental hygiene device, but is also classified as a MOCA (Materials and Objects in Contact with Food).

(REC 1935/2004/EC - DM 21.03.1973, REG EU 10/2011 and subsequent updates and amendments).

"Materials and Objects intended to come into Contact with Food must be manufactured according to good manufacturing practices so that they do not transfer components to food products in quantities such as to: pose a danger to human health; bring about an unacceptable change in the composition of the food; bring about a deterioration of the organoleptic characteristics of the food."

All parties in the food supply chain (producer/importer/distributor/end user) are legally obliged to verify and comply with the requirements of MOCA legislation. In line with the provisions of the law, Reflexx conducts global migration and specific migration tests on its gloves, using chemical substances that simulate the behavior of all food groups, as shown in the table below

Frequently Asked Questions

  1. To wear protective gloves correctly, it is essential to thoroughly clean and dry your hands before putting them on. Next, select the right size and carefully place a glove on each hand, ensuring it fully covers your fingers, hands, and wrist. Check that the glove fits well and is not too tight or too loose. Finally, adjust any closures or straps to ensure a secure yet comfortable fit.

To remove disposable gloves, grasp the first glove from the outside near the wrist and gently pull until it is completely removed. Fold it inside towards the other glove. Then, insert an ungloved finger under the cuff of the second glove and remove it. Dispose of the gloves in an appropriate waste container and complete the procedure by thoroughly washing your hands.

To ensure the longevity of your protective gloves, avoid exposing them to heat sources and harmful chemicals that could damage them. After use, clean the gloves with a mild detergent and allow them to dry completely before storing them. Regularly check the gloves for tears, holes, or signs of wear. Replace damaged or worn-out gloves with new ones to ensure effective protection.

In our extensive assortment of "Protective Gloves and Upper Limb Protection," we offer a diverse range designed to ensure safety and effectiveness in various work environments. The appropriate choice of glove type is crucial for effective protection, and is guided by European standards, such as EN 420, as well as other relevant specifications associated with each glove category.

Among the various glove categories available:

Stainless steel mesh gloves provide reliable protection against cuts and injuries from operations involving sharp objects, while fiber gloves offer resistance and protection against a diverse range of workplace hazards. For those requiring protection against chemicals and other risks, reusable rubber gloves are a suitable choice.

For low-temperature environments, gloves designed to protect against low temperatures ensure optimal comfort and performance. Conversely, protective gloves against thermal risks are essential in environments at high risk of exposure to heat and flames. For more general needs, general-purpose gloves offer versatile protection for a wide range of activities.

For those seeking a lightweight and breathable solution, cotton gloves are a comfortable choice. If the objective is protection from electrical threats, electrical protective gloves are the ideal choice. Finally, for temporary and practical use, ambidextrous disposable gloves are hygienic and convenient.

Among the main brands distributed are: Manualatex, Reflexx, Honeywell, Ansell, and Mapa. Recognized for their quality and reliability, these brands offer products in compliance with rigorous standards, ensuring solutions that meet the diverse needs for hand and upper limb protection. By choosing our gloves, you can rely on high-quality products that ensure your safety in every work context.
